Professor Paul Bauer from Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver is the guest faculty for our module on entrepreneurship and creativity in business. He is exploring what it means to be creative in business and what kinds of entrepreneur you can become. He provided an overview of different theories and models in the first class, especially focusing on the value chain, transfer model, and the business model canvas.
In the second class, students reflected on what Professor Bauer’s ideas mean to them as up and coming entrepreneurs. Guest speaker Eric Siler from Think Like a Genius Foundation facilitated an activity with “Me Models”, a way of physically prototyping who you are, what you’re passionate about, and where you want to go in life. Students each made a model and discussed their attributes and visions for themselves. This connected with how they see themselves as entrepreneurs and what kind of businesses they would like to work in or create someday.
The final week of this module ties all the ideas together and examines the larger topic of creativity in business.
